Established June 1, 2022, the Nevada County School Food Services JPA was created to form a TK-12th Grade meal program that could provide students with daily access to fresh, healthy food. This collaborative meal program could serve 10,000 students during and after school as well as summer meal needs.
Western Nevada County school districts participating include Chicago Park, Clear Creek, Grass Valley, Nevada City, Nevada Joint Union High School, Penn Valley, Pleasant Ridge, Union Hill, and Nevada County Superintendent of Schools. Partners include The Chef Ann Foundation and Sierra Harvest.
The Nevada County School Food Services JPA Board generally meets monthly on the third Thursday. Location rotates from district to district.
