Our work relies on continuously analyzing relevant data to inform curriculum and instructional decisions, strives to increase educator knowledge and skills that improve practice, and ties professional learning to daily, ongoing work. Jennifer Eubanks
Executive Director of
Educational Improvement
Originally from the midwest, Jennifer Eubanks moved to California where she and her husband raised their two children exploring and finding adventure in the great outdoors. Possessing a passion for learning and the nurturing of our youth, she pursued a career in education rooted in community and connection. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a minor in Psychology and her multiple subject teaching credential from Chico State University. There Jennifer found her love of teaching in rural school communities. With over a decade of teaching experience in elementary and middle school, she developed a passion for creating authentic hands-on learning experiences while ensuring equitable access for all students. The desire to cultivate learning environments that celebrate diversity and foster life-long learning led her to seek her Masters in Arts of Education and an Administrative Credential from Simpson University. Prior to becoming the Executive Director of Educational Improvement at Nevada County
Superintendent of Schools, Jennifer was a principal in Tehama County and later a Principal and Director of Curriculum and Instruction in Nevada County. As an administrator she focused on developing systems that build educator capacity, support innovative and creative lesson design, and cultivate a school culture where both students and staff thrive. She believes in educating the whole child while building strong community partnerships to ensure every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to learn.
Nancy Jackson
Instructional Coach
NCSOS Art Coordinator
Nancy Jackson began her career in 1993 in Southern California. From the outset, Nancy searched out opportunities to grow as an educator through extensive training and honed her skills in all content areas including a variety of Arts methodology. She taught fourth and fifth grade and developed a love of supporting & mentoring other teachers. In 1998 Nancy was asked to fill the district role of Literacy Resource Teacher, where she expanded her repertoire in Language Arts and grew as a professional developer of Kindergarten through 8th grade teachers & their administrators. During this stage of her career, she pursued and obtained her Masters of Arts in Education Administration. After four years as a Literacy Resource Teacher, Nancy decided to return to the classroom at a Title I school teaching second through fourth grades for the next 16 years. During these years, Nancy served in a variety of leadership roles. She has been involved in curriculum mapping and integrated unit planning using NGSS, piloting
standards based report cards, PBIS & PLC leadership, instructional leadership, and highly trained in Cognitively Guided Instruction Math pedagogy, writing, social studies and guided reading. In 2017, she was hired to be a full release Induction Mentor where she became fluent in the California Standards for the Teaching Profession – the guide of teaching pedagogy. Nancy mentored teachers from TK through twelfth grades, in all subjects, including the Arts.
Instructional coaching became her new passion. She experienced high level instructional coaching training through Mentoring Matters group, South Bay Coaching Academy, New Teacher Center, and the California Induction Conferences. In 2021, Nancy and her family made the move to Nevada County where she found herself in the role of Literacy Instructional Coach at Union Hill School District. This Fall, Nancy accepted the role of Continuous Improvement Instructional Specialist for English Language Arts & the Arts. She is excited to be a part of NCSoS and serve the schools, teachers and students of Nevada County. Nancy sees rich Literacy and Arts programs as vehicles to uniquely engage our learners and enable them to thrive as people and students and will support teachers in the integration of the Arts into their lessons. Her passion lies in supporting teachers’ growth in their teaching practice in Literacy, the Arts, & beyond!
Carrie Ferraro
Science Coach
Instructional Leadership Corp Team Member
Carolyn Ferrero is a twenty-two-year K-12 veteran teacher. Currently, she serves as a Continuous Improvement Specialist in math and science for the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools Office. Carolyn earned her Master of Science in Educational Leadership and graduated with honors from her leadership cohort. After serving as an Instructional Coach for Nevada County, Carolyn continues to provide training, resource support, and coaching focused
on implementing improvement science to improve educational outcomes for all. As an Instructional Coach, Carolyn provides training in K-12 California math standards, Next Generation Science Standards, support with the curriculum adoption processes, technology integration in instructional design, Universal Design for Learning coaching support, MTSS strategy implementation, STEM program initiatives, beginning teacher support, lesson modeling,
assessment planning, and improvement science inquiry cycles. Carolyn is a current member of the Exploratorium Teacher Leaders Institute, California Math Grant Collaborative, National Science Teachers’ Association, a Google Certified Educator, a CDE NGSS Curriculum Review
panelist, and MTSS certificated coach. Carolyn integrates research-based best-practices within her instruction and professional development workshops. Carolyn was also honored in 2013 when she was named Teacher of the Year by Pleasant Ridge Union School District in Nevada County, CA. She is grateful to call Nevada County home and is pleased to serve the community she loves!
