The Nevada County Superintendent of Schools Office offers training for MEDIC FIRST AID BasicPlus CPR, AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and First AID. Committing to additional time, the Medic First Aid Infant and Child Supplement can be included following Adult CPR/First Aid that deals specifically with the treatment of life-threatening events involving children. The goal of this program is to help you gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to manage a medical emergency until more advanced help is available.

The program is designed for all administrators, coaches, physical educators, teachers, and instructional aides and secretaries responsible for first aid in the schools. All candidates for a teaching credential must complete this training (including the infant-child CPR supplement) before student teaching. Participants need to attend just one day of training.

The cost of the class is $30.00 and must be prepaid to confirm your reservation (cash or check only). A receipt is given to participants if you choose to be reimbursed by your district .  Click here to register online.  After completion of online registration, please mail your payment to NCSOS, Attn: Anna, 112 Nevada City Hwy, Nevada City, CA 95959.  Your registration will be confirmed upon receipt of payment.  You may also drop payment off at the same address. EMSA CLASS INFORMATION (For childcare providers)

The Nevada County Superintendent of Schools office is now offering EMSA Emergency Medical Services Authority) certified CPR/First Aid classes on a limited basis. This class is designed especially for child care providers/preschool employees required by law to have staff qualified under EMSA standards. The cost is $65 which is payable as directed above.

All classes are held in the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools’ conference room at 112 Nevada City Highway, Nevada City, CA.95959. Registration is first come, first serve. Class fee must be pre-paid to reserve a spot. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a snack and beverage.

 Nevada County students entering grades 9-12 are invited to apply, however, preference will be given to students entering grade 11 and 12.  Selected participants will be notified of selection no later than June 5.
